1 st Leaders’ Meeting Youth transition to jobs: making VET/Apprenticeships an attractive, quality and equal choice for youth

For  the  first  time 30 Leaders  met  at  the  European  Commission in  Brussels with teh support of CSR Eu where they discussed:
1. Leaders’ progress and initiatives
2. A   Joint   Policy   Proposal  on   Vocational Educational  Training  (VET)  and  Apprenticeship  titled  “Making VET/Apprenticeships an Equal Choice for Youth”

In this first meeting, Viscount Etienne Davignon started by clearly restating the purpose, objectives and targets that the Pact set  six months ago whilst  also acknowledging the organisations’ efforts. Commissioner Marianne Thyssen praised the importance of business, youth and education partnerships and how they would be a red thread in the New EU Skills Agenda the European Commission was about to release. Regarding results, it  was  concluded  that  Leaders  were  to  maintain  the level  of  ambition  and  support,  overcoming  any obstacles to success.
